Tips for Creating a Successful Auction
Creating competition among stations is the KEY to a successful auction.
There are several ways to increase competition:
In general…
-Include more regions, towns and dayparts
-Set as broader age range and/or social economic demographic as possible.
-Encourage early bidders by setting a relatively high max target audience CPT
- Include more than one daypart in your auction since stations may only have inventory
available in certain dayparts

Choose a location where listeners are likely to be interested in your
product/service.
Include as many locations as possible to maximise the number of stations invited to bid. The more stations competing, the competitive the rates will be!
A single auction with as many competitors as possible will ensure the lowest overall CPT. However, creating more than one auction will allow you to target both large and smaller radio stations in the same week.
If you create an auction with only a few locations, you may want to broaden other criteria to allow for more competition.
